Shaving is not that complicated.

When Tsafrir first had the idea for a new razor, he started with this simple concept. The same concept on the old fashioned lawn mowers.  He tinkered around in his workshop and came to the engineers with this as his first "concept" design. From there, the engineers got to work. 

Once the basic concept of the razor was achieved then a more refined prototype was developed so the razor could be tested on live shavers. A casing was put around the handle and head so it could be easily maneuvered. The replaceable blade mechanism and the rolling head were the true innovations for a comfortable shave. Most electric razors have the foils being dragged along the skin and the blade rotating underneath the foil. We created a foil that moves with the skin, cutting the hair as it rolls.
